Only one banana or avocado per day can prevent heart attack and stroke, according to new research.
Foods high in potassium can stop the deadly blockages by preventing arterial hardening. Previous research has shown that with the inferiority of the arteries the risk of heart attack or stroke increases. The researchers believe that potassium regulates genes that maintain the flexibility of the arteries, Daily Mail reports.
Study author Dr. Paul Sanders of the University of Alabama in Birmingham notes that the results of the study showed a significant influence on the potassium in the prevention of vascular diseases.
