The smallest dog that you have ever seen is the dog from the breed Chihuahua. The name of this breed comes from the Mexican state Chihuahua.
There are many stories from where Chihuahua comes, but everybody agrees that they come from Mexico. This breed has a long history that come from the Toltec civilization in Mexico which has roots from 300BC.
This breed has no standards for the height of the dog, only is important the weight and the overall proportions. By the Kennel Clubs there are two main variants of this breed, Chihuahua with long hair and Chihuahua with short hair. Also there is another variant of classification of this breed “apple head” and “deer head” (but only apple head is recognized by Kennel Clubs).
According to the standards this breed has to weight more than six pounds, ideally weight is from 1,5 till 3 kg (3,3 and 6,6 lbs) and the high is between 6 to 9 inches (15-23 cm), some Chihuahua grow to 12-15 inches (30-38 cm).
For the both Chihuahua long and short hair, they have large and round eyes, ears that are high and erect.
This breed has a different temperament for every doggy. They are not suitable for families with small children. (Because the doggy is obsessive and overprotecting with one person of the family.) You usually can found them between your clothes or under your blanket or bed. bed
Most common health problems at the Chihuahua are teeth and birthing problems. Also epilepsy and seizure disorders, which are neurological anomalies. Always consult your vet about your puppy.
